As early as I can remember growing up in Ohio, I've been making pictures, first drawings of imaginary friends and little books, then more complicated paintings and illustrations.

I graduated from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. After college, I taught elementary art in Lake Zurich, IL and worked as a package designer in the Chicago area.

After I was married and my children were born, I worked as a free-lance artist, first in Chicago, and then during moves with my family in Hendersonville, NC and in Evesham Township, NJ. During this period I worked as a package designer and did product illustration and advertising. I also wrote and illustrated several children's stories which were published in magazines.

Since moving to the Minneapolis area in 1990, I have done pen and ink illustrations of houses, wood-cut prints, greeting card illustrations, and renewed my interest in watercolor painting, acrylics and collage. I have studied painting with local and national artists including Karen Knutson, Karlyn Holman, Cheng-Khee Chee, Arne Westerman, John Salminen, Eric Weigardt, Don Andrews and Robert Burridge. I have taught classes through the Plymouth fine Arts Council, Minnetonka Center for the Arts and at my studio/gallery.
